"The Fad" is the third and final single from Chevelle's 2007 album, Vena Sera. Pete Loeffler stated in a live show that he wrote this song while in Las Vegas.

Music video

The music video was premiered on the internet on March 3, 2008. The video features a gang of clowns capturing people who have done wrong, the clowns put bags over their faces so they do not see where they are going. They are taken to a room where there are more clowns gathered. The people appears with a list of things that they made wrong and the reasons of why are they there, and then they are taken away to fight against the clowns, but the clowns beat them giving the kidnapped people a lesson. Finally, they free the hostages in the streets away from where they were fighting.

The band appears briefly in the video as guys helping the clowns and driving their getaway van.

The video also features Jeff Hilliard, who appeared as one of the main characters in the video for Chevelle's previous single "I Get It".
