The Exclusives (formerly Move Sumthin Productions) are an American/Haitian R&B/Pop/Hip Hop songwriting/production team from Miami, Florida, consisting of Sean "Pen" McMillion and Ralph "Vintage" Jeanty. The product of Miami based writing camp, The M.O.S.T. the now Atlanta based team broke into the music scene by co-producing the theme to the 2010 Soul Train Awards.[1]

Music career

In their short career The Exclusives, began to build notoriety and respect as a songwriters and producers for co-writing the song "Never Window Shopping" for Lloyd on his Zone 4/Interscope Release King of Hearts.[2]

Under the mentorship of R&B Legend Betty Wright the duo set to broaden their horizons in the music industry. The team collaborated with Wright, as well as The Roots and co-wrote two songs on their album Betty Wright: The Movie released on November 15, 2011. The album received positive reviews mostly; Metascore gave it a 73 out of 100. It was listed as #6 on Associated Press's best albums of 2011.[3] Pen and Vintage co-wrote the songs "Real Woman"[4] featuring Snoop Dogg, and "Baby Come Back"[5] featuring Lenny Williams.[6]

Work on the Betty Wright album afforded them the opportunity to work with The Roots on their first concept album entitled Undun, which released on December 2, 2011. The album debuted at No. 17 on Billboard Hot 200,[7] and The Exclusives co-wrote the song "The Other Side" featuring Greg Porn and Bilal.[8]

Their rising success did not go unnoticed, Super Producer Tricky Stewart heard a song the duo wrote, and asked if he could record the song on an up-and-coming artist. Stewart produced the song with The Exclusives and it found a home with Media Sensation Karmin; most famously known for their Chris Brown cover, Look at Me Now. On May 1, 2012 the song "Too Many Fish" was unveiled to the world via several blog sites.[9][10]
