The Desperadoes is a 1943 Western film directed by Charles Vidor and starring Randolph Scott, Claire Trevor and Glenn Ford.[1] Based on a story by Max Brand, the film is about a wanted outlaw who arrives in town to rob a bank that has already been held up! His past and his friendship with the sheriff land them both in trouble. The Desperadoes was the first Columbia Pictures production to be released in Technicolor.[2]
Plot
This classic western film takes place in 1863 and stars the sheriff Upton (Randolph Scott), who tries to keep the law in a small town in Utah. His main problem is his friend Cheyenne (Glenn Ford), who for a time was a criminal but has long since been reformed. When the bank is robbed, Cheyenne becomes, in the eyes of the community, the prime suspect. Only his friend seems to be convinced of his innocence.
