The Benders

The Benders were a British comedy sketch group who performed on the London comedy circuit between 2000 and 2002.

This sketch group comprised the following comic actors and writers:

With the occasional involvement of:

  • Jordan Long (born 1974)
  • Leigh Kelly (born 1969)
  • Simon Williams (sound design; born 1971)

The group formed in 2000 after working with the late director/performer Ken Campbell (1941-08) on a 24hr play entitled The Warp.

In 2002, Neil Edmond went on to win the Perrier best newcomer award with the sketch group The Consultants. They recorded four series of the same name on BBC Radio 4 between 2002 and 2005.

In late 2002, Renton Skinner, Stephen Evans, and Jordan Long went on to form the Dutch Elm Conservatoire. They were nominated for the prestigious Perrier award for their show Conspiracy in August 2005.
