Terma A/S is a Danish defense and aerospace manufacturer for both civilian and military applications, and is owned by the Danish company Thrige Holding A/S

The company was founded in 1944 by Orla and Svend Aage Jørgensen, originally making thermometers. The group's international customers contribute more than 80% of Terma's total sales.[citation needed]

Terma A/S headquarters are located in Lystrup near Århus, Denmark. In Denmark, other Terma facilities are located at Grenaa, Herlev, and Skive. Terma international locations include Leiden, Netherlands; Darmstadt near Frankfurt, Germany and Singapore. In 2004 the company opened the subsidiary Terma North America in Warner Robins, Georgia and Washington, D.C..

The defense businesses of Terma include:

  • Airborne Systems (ASY), providing:
    • Electronics Warfare systems for fixed and rotary wing aircraft,
    • tactical reconnaissance systems
    • Applied aerostructures for integration of technology upgrades of aircraft and
    • Electronics Manufacturing Services for Defense and Space customers. ASY provides upgrades to legacy aircraft for customers including the US Air National Guard, the Royal Netherlands Air Force, EPAF F-16 and the Royal Danish Air Force.[citation needed]
  • Aerostructures (AES), providing design and produces structures for civil and military aircraft
  • Integrated Systems (ISY), providing command and control systems for Army, Navy and Air Defense. The Business unit offers selfprotection systems (SKWS) for naval ships. Integrated Systems provides air traffic management systems for air traffic control centres and towers.
  • Space (SPD), providing on-board electronics and software for satellites as well as control centres. Key focus areas are power conditioning systems and star trackers for satellites.
  • Radar Systems (RSY) provides radar sensors for
    • Coastal Surveillance Systems (CSS)
    • Vessel Traffic Services (VTS)
    • Surface movement radar (SMR) for airports and..
    • Side looking airborne radar (SLAR) for detection and mapping of oil spill.
