Teri Ann Linn (born April 7, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii^[1]) is an American actress and singer who was also popular in Finland and Italy. She pioneered the role of Kristen Forrester Dominguez on The Bold and the Beautiful, a role she played from 1987-1994. She returned for a guest appearance from April to September 1997, and later as a series regular again in April 1999.

Miss Hawaii USA 1981

A former Miss Hawaii USA, she was fourth runner-up to Miss USA 1981.^[2][3]

Acting career

Linn's first appearance on national TV was as a guest on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show on April 28, 1982^[4] with the Disney Corporation for a critically acclaimed Mousercise album. The album earned her a Gold Record^[5] after which she hosted a nationally televised TV show called Grand Prix All Stars with Co-host Michael Young.^[6]

Her appearances include Hawaii Five-O, Magnum, P.I., Herman's Head, Hill Street Blues, Mike Hammer, Flamingo Road, Dallas, and T. J. Hooker.^[7]

She was a host, guest host and made appearances on Hour Magazine, PM Magazine, Hollywood Squares and Family Feud. She also performed in a trapeze act on Circus of the Stars.^[8][9]

Although generally cast as the nice, pretty girl, People Magazine quoted her as saying "No problem creating bitchiness; everybody has it in them."^[10]

Known for big hair in the eighties, Linn later appeared with a more sophisticated look in a movie, Pure Danger, that also featured Marcus Chong (The Matrix). In another movie, Fallout with Daniel Baldwin (Homicide: Life On The Street), she plays a NASA computer engineer with horn-rimmed glasses.^[11]

Singing career

The quasi-debut CD Teri, which went Gold on the European charts, is a mix of styles ranging from sexy dance cuts to heartfelt ballads, as well as 2 duets with Donny Gerrard (Forrest Gump, Little Shop of Horrors, Little Mermaid).^[12]

Linn's first album, Love is the Answer, was recorded under the Fazer Music label. Her second album, Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy was recorded under the Warner Records Finland label and went Gold on the European Charts.^[13][14]

Other Personal

Linn was a schoolmate of Barack Obama at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii (both graduated in 1979). She was quoted in the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, saying that the future United States President had a "cute afro" and that he "dressed like John Travolta." She added: "[Obama] must not have been very good at tennis, or we would have played tennis together."^[15]

In People magazine, she is pictured with her (then) "boyfriend" actor Tony Griffin, the only child of entertainment business magnate Merv Griffin.^[16]

Linn was the 1978 Hawaii state girls singles tennis champion on her third state championship team.^[17] She played tennis at Pepperdine.^[18] In 1981, Linn and her mother won the Mother-Daughter US Open Tennis Championship.^[19]

Linn was a judge for the Miss Universe Pageant in 1996.^[20]
