Tenamaxtlán is a municipio (municipality) and town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It has renown for the huge festivities that are held every December for a period of two weeks.[citation needed] It is famous for its bull fights during the holidays.
Tenamaxtlán was founded about 480–500 years ago. The current mayor of the town is Juan Carlos Nuno Garcia.
