The Tempe Daily News was an afternoon newspaper that was published in Tempe, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix. It was founded in 1887.
It was published by Francis Connolly from 1944, and then by his widow Irma Connolly after his death in 1978. When Francis died, Irma had to sell the newspaper to pay for the estate taxes.
It was purchased by Cox Enterprises in 1980, and its name was changed to the Tempe Daily News Tribune in 1986. In 1997, it was combined with other Cox-owned area newspapers into what was first called "The Tribune" and later the East Valley Tribune.
