Kim Ho Kyung(Chinese: 金稿京Korean:테이, born April 4, 1983) is a Korean singer known by his stage name Tei. Originally discovered by a record company's karaoke website, he gained popularity and fame in South Korea as a TV presenter, promotional model, and actor. Hobbies include composing, movie, and writing.[1] Before fame intervened, Tei wanted to be an architect, and studied towards that goal at Gyeongnam University. Tei is best known for his debut song, Love Is A Fragrance.

Biography

"Tei": the name consists of "Te" and "i"; "Te" is a French character meaning "you". Tei, is meant as a wish for people to get closer through music.[2] Born in South Korea, Tei's performance on stage in his high school was recorded and uploaded to a popular Korean website where he won a prize.[3] He was invited to audition at JYP Entertainment Starlight Casting System and joined JYP Entertainment after he graduated from high school.[4] Tei is a multi-talented person. He is the singer for his underground band and the guitarist as well.[5] In 2013, Tei will finish his military service.

Career Experience

While in high school, he led weekly performances with his underground band. Due to his singing abilities he became known as the Mr. Big in school. When he was ready to go to university, his composing talent and attractive vocal became known to a famous record company, JYP Entertainment, a company with strong market share and mature operations. The company's current roster of recording artists include 2PM, 2AM, JOO, Wonder Girls. With the opportunity allowed him by his association with the record company, Tei was turned into a trainee and debuted after a three trainee career.[6]
