Tavon Wilson (born March 19, 1990) is an American football safety for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Illinois.

College career

Wilson started the last 38 games of his collegiate career, spanning his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. In 2011 he was named the team's outstanding defensive back at the annual postseason banquet.

Professional career

New England Patriots

Considered a versatile athlete who can play both cornerback and safety, Wilson was drafted in the second round by the New England Patriots in the 2012 NFL Draft. He recorded his first interception on Jake Locker during the opening game of the 2012 NFL season. Wilson finished the 2012 season with 41 total tackles (28 solo, 13 assisted) and four interceptions for 87 interception return yards.
