Taurianova is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Calabria in the Italian region Calabria, located about 80 km southwest of Catanzaro and about 40 km northeast of Reggio Calabria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 15,933 and an area of 47.8 km².[1]
The municipality of Taurianova contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) San Martino, Amato (Greek: Amathous), Pegara (Greek: Pèghara), and Donna Livia.
Taurianova is very famous for handmade nougat.
Taurianova borders the following municipalities: Cittanova, Molochio, Oppido Mamertina, Rizziconi, Terranova Sappo Minulio, Varapodio.
