Tauranga Girls' College (TGC) is a high school in Tauranga, New Zealand. It caters for girls from the ages of 12 to 18 (Years 9 to 13), and offers the NCEA system of qualifications. The current principal is Ms Pauline Cowens.
TGC has many extracurricular activities, in both the arts and sporting. The largest activity would have to be the production, combined with Tauranga Boys' College.
It was originally developed due to the population increase and small area of Tauranga College, which became Tauranga Boys College.
Tauranga Girls College emphasises three main values: respect, participation and pride.
There are four houses at Tauranga Girls College:[1]
- Batten House: Colour: Green and Mascot: Kermit the Frog
- Freyberg House: Colour: Red and Mascot: Elmo
- Mansfield House: Colour: Yellow and Mascot: Big Bird
- Rutherford House: Colour: Blue and Mascot: Cookie Monster
