Tarun Gopi (born 10 April) is a Film Director, Scriptwriter & Film Producer. His first film as director was Thimiru (2006), becoming highly successful at the box office and one of the top-grossing Tamil films in 2006. The film was subsequently dubbed into Telugu, releasing as Pogaru and was a runaway hit in Andhra Pradesh, too.

Early Life & Career

Tarun Gopi was born in the city of Gudalur, Cumbam Circle, Theni District of Tamil Nadu and brought up in Madurai. Tarun Gopi had his schooling at the Government Higher Secondary School and studied Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) in Madurai Kamaraj University. He has four siblings and he currently resides in Maduravoyal, Chennai. He joined as an Assistant Director with Sakthi Chidambaram, Upendra, Manoj Kumar, Geetha Krishna & Senthil Nathan.

Tarun Gopi's next movie is Soodhattam which is filming now under his own house production, "Thimiru Production".
