Tamer Hassan (born 18 March 1968), is an English actor of Turkish Cypriot descent.

Early life

Hassan was born and raised in New Cross, South London, England into a Turkish Cypriot family.[1][2][3][4] Having sustained an injury in amateur boxing, Hassan turned to running nightclubs and restaurants. Hassan is currently the owner, chairman and often player/coach of Dartford, Kent, club Greenwich Borough. He also runs an Eltham Boxing Gym.

He is a fan of Millwall.[5]

Acting career

Hassan started acting in television before his role in the The Calcium Kid.[6] He was cast as the leader of a fictional football firm in The Football Factory. The film's director Nick Love, subsequently, cast him in the lead role for The Business.

Hassan has had a number of roles in films such as The Ferryman, Batman Begins, Cass, Eastern Promises, and Clash of the Titans, where he portrayed Ares, the ancient Greek god of war.

In 2011, he played "The Boss", a shady police officer, in the British film noir Jack Falls.

Personal life

Hassan is married and has two children. He is a close friend of Cockney fellow actor Danny Dyer.[9] His son, Taser, is a football player.[10]
