Tales of Zestiria (Japanese: テイルズ オブ ゼスティリア Hepburn: Teiruzu obu Zesutiria) is an upcoming Japanese role-playing game for the PlayStation 3. It is the fifteenth core product in the Tales series and is developed and published by Bandai Namco Games.

Story

Unlike the previous entry in the series, Tales of Xillia, Tales of Zestiria returns to a pure fantasy setting, with Baba saying that players would get to experience the "zest" of the story with new characters and locations.[1] Dragons will have a strong presence in the story.[2] The game focuses on the adventures of Slay, a kind-hearted young warrior, and Alicia, a tomboyish warrior princess.[3]

Development

Tales of Zestiria was trademarked in Japan, Europe, and North America between August and September 2013.[4][5][6] Namco launched a website in November as a teaser campaign which lead to a countdown for a live stream on Niconico on December 12, 2013.[7][8] The game was revealed through the live stream and localizations for North America, South America, and Europe were announced afterwards.[1] The characters will be designed by Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima and Daigo Okumura, all of whom worked on previous Tales titles,[1] and Tatsuro Udo, battle programmer for Tales of Graces is working on the battle system.[9]
