Te Hui Amorangi O Te Tai Rawhiti is an Episcopal polity (or Diocese) of Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. The Hui Amorangi covers the East Coast of the North Island. In general this covers the Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Kahungunu and the Turanga-nui-a-kiwa iwi. According to the 2001 census there are approximately 11000 Māori Anglicans within this area. Te Tai Rawhiti is one of 5 Hui Amorangi (episcopal units) that comprise Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa, the Māori Anglican Church in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

There are 5 rohe (ministry units) within Te Hui Amorangi O Te Tai Rawhiti:

  • Ngāti Porou
  • Turanga-Whangara
  • Kahungunu-ki-Wairoa
  • Te Matau-a-Maui
  • Waipawa

The Bishop of Te Tai Rawhiti is The Most Reverend William Brown Turei, LTh, LTh (Aot), who is also Te Pihopa o Aotearoa (Head of the Māori Anglican Church or Te Pihopatanga o Aotearoa) and Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa-New Zealand and Polynesia.

The Amorangi Administrator is Andrew Tamihere, in charge of all Amorangi administration, fiscal performance, and general management for the Tairawhiti Trust Board.

The Rev Jack Papuni in consultation with Minita a Rohe provides Ministry Training to groups or to individuals. He offers pastoral care and relief from duties where he is able. He provides retreats for ministers, kaikarakia and lay and attends vestry and rohe meetings when invited. Each year a Clergy Kura is held with local and national speakers contributing to the programme.

Each of the Rohe in Tairawhiti is led by a senior priest known as a Minita-a-Rohe. They are as follows:

Rev Don Tamihere is the Kaihautu (Dean) of Te Taapapa ki Te Tairawhiti (a tertiary provider that offers study programmes in Atuatanga, Minitatanga, Awhi Whanau, Tikanga Wairua, and Iwi Hapu); Director of Te Purapura Pai - Anglican Centre for Biblical Studies (providing training to clergy and laity in biblical studies); and Priest-in-Charge of Nikora Tapu St Nicholas Church at Wainui Beach.

Davidson Taylor-Rangihuna is the Youth Enabler for the northern part of the Te Tairawhiti.

Te Hui Amorangi has a Trust Board which oversees its land, buildings, and assets. Members are as follows:
