Tainan County was a county of the Republic of China in southern Taiwan until it merged with the city of Tainan at the end of 2010 to form a single special municipality.[1] The county capital was Xinying City.
Administration
At the time it merged with city of Tainan, Tainan County administered two cities, seven urban townships and 22 rural townships. All of these became districts of the city of Tainan.
