Syndal is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the locality of Syndal, in the suburb of Glen Waverley, on the Glen Waverley railway line. Syndal is classed as a Host Station and is in Metcard Zone 2.

Syndal is located at the eastern end of the Blackburn Road rail overpass, and between Coleman Parade and Hunter Street, all providing station access.

The station consists of two platforms, in an island format, with a large weatherboard building in the centre. A large Metcard ticket vending machine is located at the entrance to the platforms, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small coin-only Metcard ticket vending machine & two ticket offices sit beside, as well as a myki ticket vending machine. An underpass is situated at the Flinders Street end of the station.

History

Syndal station opened on 5 May 1930, along with the railway line between East Malvern and Glen Waverley.[1] It was the site of a major rail crash in 1989.
