Sydney Arthur "Syd"/"Sid" Williams (born 17 April 1918 in Aberavon — died 28 August 1976 in Neath) was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s, '40s and '50s, playing representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Aberavon RFC, as a Wing, i.e. number 11 or 14, and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for Salford, as Fullback, Wing, or Centre, i.e. number, 1, 2 or 5, or, 3 or 4.[1] He also appeared for Wigan as a wartime guest player.[2]
International honours
Syd Williams won three caps for Wales (RU) while at Aberavon RFC in 1939 against England, Scotland, and Ireland,and won 5 caps for Wales (RL) in 1940–1952 while at Salford.[3]
