Swords Express is a privately operated bus service in Dublin, Ireland, that runs from Swords Manor in the town of Swords to Georges Quay in Dublin City Centre. It is operated by Eirebus and is an express bus route serving the residential areas of Swords. It includes one core route, 500, which each operates every 30 minutes through the day, and four peak time express routes, 500X, 501, 501X and 502.
Route
500 & 500X
Route 500 operates every 30 minutes from Swords Manor in Swords to Georges Quay in Dublin City Centre. It runs via the Brackenstown Road, Murrough Road, Glen Ellan Road, Swords By-pass, Malahide Road, Swords Pavilions, Forest Road, Boroimhe, Airside, Holywell, M1 motorway, Dublin Port Tunnel, East Wall Road and North Wall Quay, utilising the Dublin Port Tunnel for a large portion of its journey. The return buses depart from Eden Quay, on the opposite side of the river Liffey.[1]
Route 500X is a peak time express service. The inbound route follows the same route as route 500 but does not serve Forest Road, Boroimhe, Airside or Holywell. The outbound route follows the same route as route 500 but does not serve Boroimhe, Forest Road or Swords Pavilions.[2]
501 & 501X
Route 501 is a peak time service from Swords Pavilions (or Highfields) to Georges Quay in Dublin City Centre. It runs via Forest Road, Boroimhe, Airside, Holywell, M1 motorway, Dublin Port Tunnel, East Wall Road and North Wall Quay. There are no return services, see routes 500 or 501x.[3]
Route 501X is a peak time express service from Swords Pavilions to Georges Quay. It operates via Dublin Road, M1 motorway, Dublin Port Tunnel, East Wall Road and North Wall Quay. The return buses depart from Eden Quay, on the opposite side of the river Liffey, and follow the same route.[4]

Route 502 is a morning peak time service from Swords Pavilions to Georges Quay via Airside, Holywell, M1 motorway, Dublin Port Tunnel, East Wall Road and North Wall Quay. The return buses depart from Eden Quay, on the opposite side of the river Liffey. They operate via North Wall Quay, East Wall Road, Dublin Port Tunnel, M1 motorway, Holywell, Airside, Swords By-pass and terminate at Seatown.[5]
Fares
The fare charged depends on time of departure. Cash fares must be paid in coins in the exact amount.[6] Passengers can avail of cheaper fares by using a prepaid "Leapcard", which can be purchased and topped up at Payzone outlets.[7]
