Switchover Media was an Italian publisher of television channels: GXT, K2, Frisbee, Giallo e Focus. The company was founded in 2009, by a rebranding of Jetix, controlled by the Disney group, which delivery to Switchover Media the management of GXT (born May 2005) and K2 (active from July 2009). In June 2010, Media Switchover, active a channel for children, Frisbee, broadcast on Sky Italia and digital terrestrial. In June 2011, the publisher starts Switchover Licensing, its internal division dedicated to licensing, merchandising and marketing. In July 1 2011, Media Switchover activated the new admiral channel, CanalOne, but the attempt to create a competitive network failed, leading Switchover Media to its closure and the creation of tematic channel Giallo.[1]

In January 14, 2013, Discovery Networks Western Europe acquired Switchover Media, and all of channels has been fold into Discovery Networks.

Channels

GXT

Distributed exclusively in the package of Sky Entertainment (channels 146 and 147). GXT is aimed at a target audience of young males 15-44 years and offers a guided program of action, horror, comedy, humor and excess. The tip of GXT programs include: game shows such as Japanese and American Ninja Warrior, and sports entertainment programs such as American Gladiators and WWE.

K2

Aimed at a target audience of children between 4 and 14 years. It's seen for free on digital terrestrial television (channel 41), Sky (channel 626). The program includes the most popular The Fairly OddParents, The Adventures of Mr. Bean, Reality at all, Hot Wheels. And then the family sitcom such as The Cosby Show, and exclusively anime saga, such as Pokémon.

Frisbee

Distributed free on digital terrestrial television (channel 44), Sky (channel 627). The programming includes Frisbee characters and well-known heroes like Sabrina, W.I.T.C.H., Tutenstein, Pucca, The New Addams Family.

Giallo

Is a station that broadcasts on digital terrestrial (channel 38). The network transmits genre Serial crime, legal drama and Police procedural.

Focus

is a channel that broadcasts on Italian digital terrestrial (channel 56). The issuer transmits factuals programs and enterteiment programs.
