Swifterbant (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌsʋɪftərˈbɑnt]; 52°34′N 5°39′E / 52.567°N 5.650°E) is a town in the Dutch province of Flevoland. It is a part of the municipality of Dronten, and lies about 13 km northeast of Lelystad.
In 2001, Swifterbant had 5761 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.54 km², and contained 2237 residences.[1]
Archaeology
The town also gave its name to a neolithic Swifterbant culture dated to between 5300 and 3400 BC.
