Suzie Plakson (born June 3, 1958) is an American actress, singer, writer, poet, and artist, perhaps best known for her roles as K'Ehleyr, Worf's half Human, half Klingon mate in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Emissary" and again in the episode "Reunion", and to a lesser extent as Meg Tynan in the sitcom Love & War. She has played a range of characters throughout her career.[1] Her first regular role in a television series was in the sitcom Love & War; she did several voice roles (principally Fran's Apatosaurus neighbor and friend Monica) on Dinosaurs and ultimately played four characters on various Star Trek series.

Born Susan Plaksin[2] in Buffalo, New York but raised in Kingston, Pennsylvania, she attended Northwestern University.[3] She began her career on the stage, and played four characters opposite Anthony Newley in a revival tour of Stop the World, I Want to Get Off. She also played "Marquise Theresa Du Parc" in a Broadway production of La Bête.[3]

In addition, she served as master of ceremonies for the closing of Star Trek: The Experience in 2008.

Plakson has many other guest and recurring roles in sitcoms such as Mad About You and Everybody Loves Raymond where she played Joanne Glotz, a former stripper and the ex-wife of Robert Barone. She was also acting in movies such as Disclosure, Red Eye, and Wag the Dog.[4] She wrote and performed an allegorical solo show, An Evening with Eve. In 2008, Plakson released the alternative country rock album DidnWannaDoIt! produced by Jay Ferguson.[1] In a recurring role that started in 2005, she plays Marshall Eriksen's mother in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother.
