Susannah Meadows

Susannah Meadows is a journalist. Her most recent story was the widely viewed New York Times Magazine article, "The Boy With a Thorn in His Joints." She writes the Newly Released column in The New York Times. She also writes book reviews for the paper.

For ten years she was a reporter, writer, and editor at Newsweek magazine. She wrote features about Serena Williams, Columbine, teenagers -- including the cover story, "In Defense of Teen Girls" -- and conservative Christians. As a senior writer for National Affairs, she covered both the Howard Dean and John Kerry presidential campaigns in ’04, Hillary Clinton's run up to her campaign in '08 and, later, the Duke Lacrosse scandal -- for which she made numerous television appearances. Most recently, she was the Senior Politics Editor for Newsweek.com, producing the online coverage of the 2010 midterms.

She is a cum laude graduate of Duke.

She is married to the novelist Darin Strauss.
