Grace Susanna "Suky" Adams (December 28, 1768 – February 4, 1770) was the second daughter of John Adams, the second President of the United States, and his First Lady, Abigail Adams. She was named after John's mother, Susanna Boylston Adams and called "Suky" by her father who adored her much. In a letter to Abigail on June 29, 1769, John made a request of Abigail, for "Suky": "Cant you contrive to go to Braintree to kiss my little Suky, for me?" The child died in February 1770. The day is not known, some sources cite it as the 4th.[1] and some cite it as the 6th.[2] John Adams never spoke Suky's name except once, many years after her sudden death.[1]
