Susan Elizabeth Close is an Australian politician representing the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Port Adelaide for the Australian Labor Party since the 2012 Port Adelaide by-election.
Close retained the seat for Labor on a 42.3 percent primary and 52.9 percent two-candidate preferred vote. The by-election was held after the resignation of the previous Labor Party incumbent Kevin Foley. Close earned a PhD in political science at Flinders University and worked as a public servant before entering parliament.[1]
