Sur Sohni

SUR SOHNI (Sindhi: سرسهڻي ) is the sixth of 30 Surs (Chapters) of Shah Jo Risalo that spiritually treats the love of Sohni and Mehar. The contents of this Sur, section by section, are described below:
- Sohni's love-her resignation to God-true to promise-meeting the beloved through death.
- Fearful state of the river-the breaking of waves etc.
- Drowning of Sohni.
- The spiritual love of Sohni and Mehar existed long before the creation of world.
- Mehar cries for the rescue of Sohni.
- The jar to swim with across the river-destiny will have its way.
- Excess of desire for going over the beloved.
