The superficial perineal pouch (also superficial perineal compartment/space/sac) is a compartment of the perineum.

Structure

The superficial perineal pouch is a fully enclosed compartment:

  • its inferior border is the fascia of perineum (Gallaudet fascia or deep perineal fascia) is the fascia which covers the muscles of the superficial perineal pouch.
  • its superior border is the perineal membrane
