Sunwal is a municipality in Nawalparasi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. It was recently announced as a municipality combining two neighboring Village Development Committees; Sunwal and Swathi; of the district (by means of financial plan for the fiscal year 2011-2012 on July 16, 2011). At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 14,166 people living in 2720 individual households.[1]
