Sultans of Sylhet (often abbreviated as SS) is the franchise representing Sylhet in the Bangladesh NCL (National Cricket League) Twenty20, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team is led by Mashrafe Mortaza. Alok Kapali is the team's Icon Player. The official colors are yellow and blue. The team also has three players who are iconic. In Sultans of Sylhet it is bowler Nazmul Hossain who has been on the Bangladesh national team when they beat world number one Australia. Also the bowler Farhad Reza. And also the bowler Mosharraf Hossain. They are owned by BRAC Bank, a mainstream bank of Bangladesh. The team had a good start to the tornument.

The cricket ground for the Sultans is Sylhet Stadium. So all their home matches are played at this stadium.

Sylhet Stadium, is a multi-use stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium holds 20,000 people and was built in 1960.

The owners are BRAC Bank. There are four owners who were born and bred in Britain.They have invested in Sylhet with high intentions. BRAC Bank is the last organization to have received a commercial banking license from Bangladesh Bank, making it the youngest private commercial bank in Bangladesh.

2009/10 season

On 12 April, The Sultans started with victory on their first match against Cyclones of Chittagong at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium where they won the match in the 18th over with five balls to spare. Tamim Iqbal from Cyclones of Chittagong was awarded man of the match scoring 91 runs off 60 balls. This Sultans had started their tournament on a high.

On 13 April, Sylhet was playing against Dhaka Dynamites for their second match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 2 Ground in Savar. They humilliatingly lost by 40 runs being bowled for only 93 runs. Mohammad Rafique was given the man of the match award for picking up 4 wickets for only 7 runs with an economy of 2.00.

On 15 April, the Sultans played Rajshahi Rangers at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. They won by 26 runs that day.Mohammad Fariduddin was given the man on the match award for picking up 3 wickets for 25 run.

On 16 April, for their fourth match at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka they were to play Barisal Blazers. Sylhet won the match by 4 wickets. Indika de Saram got the man of the match for getting 39 runs of 69 balls.

On 17 April, Sylhet eased an easy win over Kings of Khulna at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. Sylhet won by 37 runs. Mohammad Fariduddin got his second man of the match award getting 3 wickets for 16 runs.

The Dhaka Dynamites finished second of the table, losing just one of their matches.

On 19 April, The Sultans had to play Kings of Khulna in the quarter finals after they defeated the Kings in Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. The Kings won by great bowling in the match. The man of the match was Mahela Udawatte of Kings of Khulna for scoring 31 off 62 balls.

So Sylhet finished 4th in the first tournament of the NCL T20 even though they finished 2nd in the group table.
