The Sulawesi Dwarf Kingfisher (Ceyx fallax) is a species of bird in the Alcedinidae family that is endemic to Sulawesi island, Indonesia. The species have numerous common names such as Celebes Forest kingfisher, Blue-crowned kingfisher, Celebes Dwarf-kingfisher, and Celebes Pygmy-kingfisher.[2]
Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Subspecies
The species carry 2 subspecies; Ceyx fallax fallax can be found in Sulawesi, and offshore of the Lembeh Island, while Ceyx fallax sangirensis is native to Sangihe and Talaud Islands.[2]
