Sue Carr

Sue Lascelles Carr QC (born 1 September 1964) is an English judge of the High Court of Justice, one of the Senior Courts of England and Wales

Education

Carr was educated at Wycombe Abbey School and at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Legal career

Carr was called to the bar in 1987 and became a Queen's Counsel in 2003.[1] In 2009 Carr was appointed a Recorder[2] and was approved to serve as a deputy High Court judge.[3]

In April 2011, Carr was appointed Commissioner to the Disciplinary Board for counsel intervening in proceedings before the International Criminal Court.[4]

On 14 June 2013 Carr was appointed a High Court judge,[5] receiving the customary appointment as a Dame Commander of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire,[6][citation needed] and assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.[7]

Other

Carr is a member of the Governing Council of Wycombe Abbey School.[8]
