Strungout on Jargon is the debut album of Post-punk band Death of Samantha, released in 1986 through Homestead Records.
Release and reception
Glenn Kenny of the Trouser Press felt that Death of Samantha showed promise despite sounding too similar to other alternative groups of the era.[3] On the other hand, Piero Scaruffi felt it was a masterpiece, calling it "an unlikely combination of Pere Ubu, Television and R.E.M."[2] Recognizing it as the band's finest release, Scaruffi listed Strungout on Jargon as the third best rock album issued in 1986.[4]
