Strasbourg Music Festival

The Strasbourg Music Festival (Festival de Musique de Strasbourg) (also International Music Festival in Strasbourg) is a prominent annual two-week festival of classical music. It takes place in Strasbourg (Alsace), France in June. The festival was founded in 1932 and since then it has been organised by the Strasbourg Friends of Music Society.[1]

The 71st Festival de Musique de Strasbourg takes place from 6 to 26 June 2009. The 3rd Concours d'Art Lyrique (Opera Competition), was presided over by Barbara Hendricks, and took place from 8 to 12 June 2009 (final with orchestra). Anna Kasyan took the Grand Prix for best female voice and Wang Xin took the Grand Prix among men and also the public award.[2]
