Stow railway station is to serve the village of Stow of Wedale in the Scottish Borders, Scotland. It is to be reopened as part of the Waverley Line between Edinburgh and Tweedbank, just beyond Galashiels. It will be the nearest station to the town of Lauder.

History

The original station at Stow was opened by the North British Railway on 1 November 1848. Some timetables described the station as Stow for Lauder. It was closed by British Rail on 6 January 1969.[1]

Reconstruction

Stow station is (as of 2013) expected to reopen by 2016. The new construction work is being undertaken by BAM Nuttall on behalf of Network Rail and Transport Scotland.
