Steven Sim Chee Keong (Chinese: 沈志强; pinyin: Shen Zhi Qiang) (born on 13 May 1982) is a young Malaysian politician from the Democratic Action Party (DAP). He is currently the Senior Executive Officer of Penang Institute, a public policy think-tank based in Penang, Malaysia. Since January 2011, he has been appointed a Councillor of the Seberang Perai Municipal Council, one of the largest municipalities in Malaysia.
He writes regularly for Penang Monthly (formerly Penang Economic Monthly) as well as contributes opinion pieces to prominent Malaysian online news portals such as Malaysiakini and the Malaysian Insider. He is also the author of "The Audacity to Think: An Invitation to Rethink Politics".[1][2]
In 2012, Steven Sim was named as a Young Global Leader of the Geneva-based World Economic Forum.[3]
