Steve Reid is an American jazz percussionist, best known as a founding member of The Rippingtons.
Reid began playing as a session musician in the 1970s, playing on hundreds of recordings.[1] Reid cofounded The Rippingtons in 1987 and also played with Supertramp in 1987-88. In 1993, 1995, and 1997 he was named Percussionist of the Year by Jazziz magazine.[1] He has released five albums under his own name.
