Steve Doszpot
Steve Doszpot (born 23 September 1948) is an Australian politician with the Liberal Party of Australia, elected to the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly in the Brindabella electorate at the 2008 election.[1][2]
He is Shadow Minister for Education & Training; Shadow Minister for Disability; Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs; and Shadow Minister for Sport & Recreation. He is also the Chair of the ACT Assembly Standing Committee on Health and Community Services.
Doszpot was Born in Budapest Hungary and arrived with his parents in Australia as a refugee, in 1957. He completed his secondary education at CBHS Lewisham (1961 to 1964). He moved to Canberra in 1974 and was involved in the computer industry as a senior executive with Wang Computer (Australia), Digital Equipment Corporation and Canon Australia, with a brief stint at the CSIRO ICT Centre as Business Development Manager in Canberra, before his election to the ACT Legislative Assembly in 2008. He was the Head of SOCOG in Canberra 1998 to 2000 and managed the Olympic Football Tournament staged in Canberra as part of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. He is past President of the ACT Olympic Council and Soccer Canberra and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
