Stepan Aghajanian

Stepan Meliksetovich Aghajanian (December 16, 1863, Shusha - December 13, 1940, Yerevan) was an Armenian painter, People's Artist of Armenia (1938). He is one of the main figures in Armenian fine arts of the 20th century, practiced various genres and was particularly distinguished as a portrait artist.

Aghajanian studied in Shusha, then in Baku, Marseille and Paris Academy of Fine Arts. From 1922 he worked in Armenia.
