Steinshamn is the administrative centre of Sandøy Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the northern end of the island of Harøya. There is a causeway that connects Steinshamn to the neighboring island of Finnøya to the northeast.[3]
The 0.69-square-kilometre (170-acre) village has a population (2012) of 485, which gives the village a population density of 703 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,820 /sq mi).[1] Harøy Church lies about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the south and the village of Myklebost lies 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) to the south.
