In 2008, Heinzmann won SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD, a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's Late-Night-Show TV total on the German ProSieben network, and was subsequently offered a recording contract with Universal Music Domestic. Her final song "My Man Is a Mean Man" debuted straight on top of the Swiss Singles Chart and reached the top ten in Austria and Germany, where it became a successful airplay hit during the following months. Her debut album Masterplan, primarily produced by Paul NZA and Marek Pompetzki, was released on March 7, 2008, throughout German-speaking Europe. Just as the singles, it made it to the top ten in Austria and Germany and also debuted atop the album charts in Switzerland, where it was certified platinum by the IFPI for 30,000 copies sold.[1]

In September 2009, Heinzmann's second album Roots to Grow was released. Albeit less successful commercially than her previous release, it peaked at number four on the Swiss Albums Chart and made it to the top twenty in Germany.[2] Leadiing single "No One (Can Ever Change My Mind)" reached the top thirty of the Swiss Single Chart.[2]
