Steady Mobb'n was a rap group composed of Crooked Eye and Billy Bathgate, from the Ghost Town section of West Oakland. The duo who were formally signed to (then Bomb Shelter Music) now Bomb Shelter Entertainment in the late 90s.

History

In 1995, prior to signing with Bomb Shelter Music; Steady Mobb'n released a cassette EP entitled,"Blood Money." The EP created a buzz in their native city of Oakland and the rest of the Bay Area. The duo first appeared in the mainstream with the single "If I Could Change" produced by DJ Daryl which was the hit single from their debut album Pre-Meditated Drama. Later, Master P was added to the song and used it as a single for his "I'm Bout It" (Soundtrack). At the end of DJ Daryl's contract with No Limit (1997 & 1998), he decided not to renew his contract. The album was a success and made it to #29 on the Billboard 200 and #6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The following year Black Mafia was released (without production from DJ Daryl). It was a huge failure only making it to #82 on the Billboard 200. Master P severed all ties and the duo went their own way. They stayed together and requested help from DJ Daryl who released Crime Buddies on Bomb Shelter Music in 2001. Steady Mobb'n released Espionage (2003) independently before disbanding.

Billy Bathgate then changed his name to "Bavgate" and is now signed to Thizz Entertainment, he has made numerous appearances on compilations released by the label.
