Staroye Aymanovo

Staroye Aymanovo (Russian: Старое Айманово; Tatar Cyrillic: Иске Айман, Latin: Iske Ayman) is a village and administrative center of the rural settlement in Aktanyshsky District in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.

Staroye Aymanovo located in the lower reaches of the Belaya River, near the border with Bashkortostan. The village was founded in the 17th century. The first mention of the village - in 1682 after the conquest of the Khanate of Kazan Ivan the Terrible. Since 1920, the village became part of the Republic of Tatarstan. The population: 334 inhabitants (2010 Census)[1]. In ethnic composition - the Tatars.

Famous people

In Staroye Aymanovo village was born Gabdulkhay Akhatov (1927-1986), a Soviet Tatar linguist and an organizer of science.[2]
