StarsStruck Kids was the reality-based talent search show in the Philippines aired by GMA. It was the junior version of StarStruck.
Overview
The show was first aired on March 20, 2004 and was shown every weekday. It was hosted by Jolina Magdangal.
The show featured young contestants aging from 5 to 7 years old. The rules for picking the two "Ultimate Survivors" were the same as the senior version of Starstruck. Seven boys and seven girls, also known as 14 K, were picked among hundreds who applied for the contest.
During Fridays, those contestants who failed the tests during the week were eliminated by the StarStruck Council composed of entertainment guru Joey de Leon, award-winning actress Janice de Belen and former child superstar Aiza Suegerra. After weeks of elimination, the 14 K were trimmed down to 2 boys and 2 girls where the Ultimate Survivors were to be determined by the public and the StarStruck Council. The winners of the contest were given GMA Network contracts (to appear on GMA TV shows) and some cash.
Eventual winners were Kurt Perez (Ultimate Male Survivor) and Sam Bumatay (Ultimate Female Survivor). Runners-up were Miguel Tanfelix and Ella Guevara.
There were no plans yet for a second season probably because of too much psychological pressure on children during their talent tests.
