StarLightMedia is the biggest Ukrainian broadcasting group that unites 6 TV stations and 9 other media and advertising companies. It was founded in November 11, 2009 in Kyiv, Ukraine.[1] In 2012 its market share in 2012 was 34% by audience 14-49 (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

TV Stations

STB

STB is a national (cowering 98% of the country territory) TV station of general interest that started broadcasting in 1997. In 2012 core audience of the STB channel consists of women 20–50 years and its share in 2012 for this target group was 13,39% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

STB key projects are X-factor, Ukraina mae talant/Ukraine’s got talent, Kholostyak/The Bachelor, Tancuut vsi/Everybody dances (format SoYouThinkYouCanDance), Zvazheni ta Schastlyvi/Weighed and Happy (format The Biggest Loser), MasterChief, Kulinarna Dynastia/Cooking Dynasty, Hata na Tata/House for Father, Cube, Kohana my vbyvaemo ditey/Honey, we're killing the kids, Beremenna v 16/16 and Pregnant, Vikna-Novyny/Windows News. In autumn 2012 100% of the STB prime-time was filled with shows produces by the station.

CEO of STB is Volodymyr Borodyansky.

ICTV

ICTV is a national TV channel (cowering 95% of the country territory) of general interest started broadcasting in 1992. Its core audience consists of male viewers 25-45 and its share in 2012 for this target group was 11,17% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

ICTV key shows are Facty/Facts, Svoboda slova/Free Speech, Maximum v Ukraine, Kozyrne Zhyttya/Winning Life, Osnovny Instynct/Main Instinct.

CEO of ICTV is Olexander Bohytsky.

Novy Kanal

Novy Kanal is a national broadcaster (cowering 80% of the country territory) of general interest for a young audience. The channel target audience is people aged 14 to 49 living in cities. In 2012 year Novy kanal became a leader by 14–24 years old TV viewers, average share for this audience was 12,52% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

Novy kanal key projects are Pedan-Pritula Show, Revizor/External Controller, Hto Zverhu?/Who is Above?, Piraniy/Piranhas. Shows made by stations own idea, format and development prevail at Novy Kanal.

CEO of Novy Kanal is Volodymyr Lokotko.

M1

M1 is a music, cinema, fashion: all that interests the youngsters.

M1 secures 42% share of Ukrainian music TV stations. Ukrainian viewer watches music at M1. That’s why we feel special responsibility for the channel content, design and other.

Core audience of M1 are young active fashionistas aged 14–25 (channel's share for this TA in 2012 was 2,14% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

M1 key channels are Guten Morgen, EmOneNews, tviy format, Blond 007, POPconveyor.

CEO of M1 is Valentyn Koval.

M2

M2 is a music for older audience, its share for TA 25–35 years in 2012 was 0,35% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+). In September 2012 M2 changed its air identity and significantly renewed its content.

In 2012 M2 share among Ukrainian music TV channels was 10%.

CEO of M2 is Valentyn Koval.

QTV

QTV is a cable network oriented for young mostly male audience featuring mostly best international animation, wrestling, and computer game shows.

QTV slogan is 'Great Animation'. Its content includes world famous cartoons for family: The Simpsons, The Penguins of Madagascar, Kung-Fu Panda, Futurama, South Park, SpongeBob etc., and also wrestling. Success was the self-produced project of the QTV - Igronavry/Gamers – about computer games.

QTV core audience is male 14-25 y.o. In 2012 the channel’s share for this TA totaled 3,72% (GfK Ukraine research, panel 50K+).

CEO of QTV is Ludmila Semchuk. Executive director is Ilya Semenov.

Sales Houses

StarLight Sales sales house sells traditional TV advertising on the group’s channels and also on the Russian's Channel One. Worldwide network. In 2012 StarLightSales sold approximately 40% of all TV gross rating points in Ukraine. Also, in 2012 the sales house worked with 85 advertisers out of TOP-100 Ukrainian advertisers. Head of StarLight Sales is Andriy Partyka.

StarLight Brand Content sales house sells sponsorship and product placement on group’s stations. In 2012 StarLight Brand Content classified all types of airtime and non-airtime advertising opportunities for brands in Sponsorship 360˚approach. CEO of StarLight Brand Content is Andriy Partyka. Sales Chief Officer is Andriy Tulenev.

StarLight Digital Sales is a digital sales house which sells advertising on group’s web sites and also on independent sites. The sales house focuses on video advertising as far as group owns thousands of hours of video at their sites.

CEO of StarLight Digital Sales is Svitlana Mohylevska.

Production Studios

StarLight Commercial Production makes brands integration in channels' projects from idea creating to graphics. Production house clients list includes international brands Lenovo, Dove, Lipton, Rexona, Pampers, Tefal, etc. Among other StarLight Commercial Production works with augmented reality and 3D-graphics on stage.

StarLight Films produces TV films, serials, commercials, documentary and musical videos. Maksym Litvinov, head of StarLight Films worked as a director of format TV projects on STB(X-factor, So You Think You Can Dance, Ukraine's Got Talent).

Vavёrka Production produces TV sitcom and other comedy genres for television.

Head of Vavёrka Production is Dmytro Tankovych, TV anchor, producer, and scriptwriter.

Service Companies

StarLight Rental company rents equipment for shooting. StarLight Rental directory includes 400 positions and about 8'000 pieces of equipment, mobile communications vehicle on 18 cameras and more than 50 HD-cameras.

StarLight Scenery company produces scenery sets for TV shows, movies and commercials. Department provides a full service from design to storage. StarLight Scenery created sets and props for most projects.

StarLight Digital creates, develops and monetizes web sites and projects. StarLight Digital made X-factor online, application for ICTV news project FAKTY ICTV, interactive map for Novy Channel project KabrioLito, and other web projects.

Group Management

In 2009-2012 group was headed by Olexander Bogutskiy, head of ICTV. In May 2012, Volodymyr Borodianskiy, head of STB channel, was appointed to this position.

The head of the Supervisory Board of StarLightMedia Group is Olena Pinchuk.[1]
