The Staphylococcaceae is a family of Gram positive bacteria that includes the genus Staphylococcus, noted for encompassing several medically significant pathogens.
The five genera Jeotgalicoccus, Macrococcus, Nosocomiicoccus, Salinicoccus and Staphylococcus have been shown to be monophyletic while Gemalla appears to be polyphetic.
