Square Shootin' Square is the 63rd animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically on September 26, 1955, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International.

Plot

Dapper Denver Dooley is running from the cops. He then hides the money he had stolen in a tree, where Woody had coincidentally lived. A chase happens between the duo.

Woody eventually gets Dooley arrested, who goes crazy in his prison cell.

Notes

Square Shootin' Square marks Dapper Denver Dooley's first appearance, voiced by Dal McKennon. Eventually, Dooley would replace Buzz Buzzard, and in turn, be replaced by Gabby Gator, as Woody's main antagonist in the series. Also the same music from Hot Noon (or 12 O'Clock for Sure) can heard in the bar scene.
