Springdale School District (also known as, Springdale Public Schools) is the public school district for students of primary and secondary education in Springdale, Arkansas and surrounding areas. The district contains two high schools, three junior highs, four middle schools, and seventeen elementary schools. Established in 1884, the district and its schools are accredited by AdvancED and is the state's second largest, with over 17,000 students.

Secondary education

Springdale School District provides education programs for students in grades six through twelve in two facilities:

  • Springdale High School—serving students in grades 10–12.
  • Har-Ber High School—serving students in grades 10–12.
  • Springdale Alternative School—serving students in grades 9–12.
  • George Junior High School—serving students in grades 8–9.
  • Southwest Junior High School—serving students in grades 8–9.
  • Central Junior High School–serving students in grades 8-9.
  • J.O. Kelly Middle School–serving students in grades 6-7.
  • Helen Tyson Middle School–serving students in grades 6-7.
  • Hellstern Middle School–serving students in grades 6-7.
  • Sonora Middle School–serving students in grades 6-7.

  • Hunt Elementary School—serving students in grades PreKindergarten–5.
  • Parson Hills Elementary School—serving students in grades PreKindergarten–5. Honored as a National Blue Ribbon School in 1993-94.
  • Robert E. Lee Elementary School—serving students in grades Kindergarten–5. Honored as a National Blue Ribbon School in 1996-97.
  • Jones Elementary School—serving students in grades PreKindergarten–5.
  • Monitor Elementary School—serving students in grades PreKindergarten–5.
  • John Tyson Elementary School—serving students in grades Kindergarten–5.

In 2012, the Gold Award of Distinction in the HealthierUS School Challenge that recognizes excellence in nutrition and physical activity by the Food and Nutrition Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture was awarded to:[3]
