Spodnje Gameljne (pronounced [ˈspoːdnjɛ ˈgaːməlnɛ]) is a village on the right bank of the Sava River north of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It was part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint Leonard and belongs to the Parish of Šmartno pod Šmarno Goro. It was a 17th-century building that was rebuilt in 1877, though it retains some of its original elements.[3]
