Spirit was an urban contemporary gospel music channel on XM Satellite Radio. XM described the channel as "Taking It To The Highest". The channel was originally launched and programmed by Radio One, Inc., but was later programmed in-house by XM.
Artists featured on the channel included Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Tye Tribbett, The Kurt Carr Singers, Angela Spivey, and The Colorado Mass Choir. The channel aired on XM channel 33 and on DirectTV Channel 827.
The channel was added to the XM lineup on February 1, 2004 with an entirely new theme. Prior to that Spirit was on XM channel 63. The channel (along with the Sirius version, which was a different format) was scrapped on November 12, 2008 as part of the Sirius-XM merger. It was replaced with Sirius's similar channel, Praise.
